John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Previously he was Director of Finance at Estuary Housing Association for 5 years and Finance Director at Toynbee Housing Association for 16 years.
Ebele Is currently the CFO at One Housing Group. She has significant corporate finance, governance, risk and strategic financial management experience in the housing sector.
Ruby is a CIMA qualified accountant with over 20 years of experience. Having worked in a number of senior finance roles in the commercial sector, Ruby moved to the not for profit sector as Director of Finance.

With 30 years’ social housing experience Anne was previously Operations Director with a national specialist housing provider where she helped it to grow to the largest rural housing provider in the UK with a reputation for high quality energy efficient homes and services.
Commissioner John Matear
Commissioner John Matear is a retired Salvation Army Officer. He served for 34 years in a variety of appointments, latterly as Territorial Commander in the United Kingdom Territory with the Republic of Ireland. He joined the saha Board in July 2012 was subsequently appointed as Chair of the saha Board in September 2012.
Jo has worked in social housing for 30 years and is Executive Director Governance & Compliance for large housing association, Optivo.
Maureen brings 30 years technology expertise gained across the private, public and third sectors. She is now an independent technology consultant and has delivered outcomes for several housing associations, ranging from some of the largest organisations to more specialist providers. Maureen is currently chair of a specialist London housing association and is on the NHF’s Board member national group. She was appointed to the saha Group Board in May 2019.
Andrew Lawrence is a Chartered Accountant and combines work as Chairman of the Board of Bron Afon Community Housing with a wide portfolio of non-executive director roles within the charity and public sectors and in insurance and social housing. Andrew has a special interest in corporate governance, strategic leadership, risk management, cultural change and innovation.
Andrew is part of a large church in South Wales and serves as a Street Pastor on the streets of Cardiff. He joined the saha Board in April 2019.
Bob is Director of Regeneration for a large housing association. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing, he has over 40 years’ experience of the social housing sector, primarily delivering housing services and regeneration. He was appointed to the saha Group Board in May 2019.
Ian Watson is a chartered accountant with considerable non-executive Board and Committee experience in both the charitable and private sectors.
Alistair HeronBoard Member
Alistair is a partner in West Country firm of solicitors and specialises in commercial property. He has been involved in several homeless charities for a number of years and is also a musician and an active member of a large church in Exeter. He was appointed to the saha Board in March 2017.
Nigel Hills CPFAChief Executive and Board Member
Nigel joined saha in 1984 as a Finance Officer, when the Association owned just 10 hostel properties and one general needs scheme in Bournemouth. He became Director of Finance in 2004 and Chief Executive in 2019.
Argiri PapathosExecutive Director of Corporate Services
Argiri joined saha’s Executive Management Team in February 2017 and leads the suite of corporate services, including the People, Business Assurance, IT and Business Transformation teams.
Peter TaylorBoard Member
Peter has worked in construction since leaving school, gaining experience with John Laing Construction, and rising to senior management positions with Laing Homes and Lovell Partnership. He has a Salvation Army background and is passionate about the work and ministry of the Army. He was appointed to the saha Board in December 2015.
Maggie Cameron-RatchfordBoard Member
Maggie worked for a local council in the east end of London for over 20 years, mainly managing housing services - homelessness, housing advice, management of council housing and managing large projects. She joined the saha Board in 2011.
Jennifer Laurent-SmartBoard member
Jennifer has been working as an equality and diversity practitioner for over 15 years and has experience of working in both the private and public sector. She joined the saha Board in May 2014.
