Saha awarded management contract of Pathways Mental Health Service in Bexhill

04/10/23

Saha is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the contract to manage Pathways, a specialist mental health supported housing scheme in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.  From 2 October 2023, Saha will assume responsibility from Peabody, which has provided a successful service at Pathways for over 10 years.  Pathways is a 14-bedroom facility that provides supported housing for adults coping with mental health challenges. Residents have private bedrooms and share communal facilities like kitchens, lounges, and bathrooms. Each resident is assigned a keyworker who helps them work towards personalised goals and review progress regularly.   The average stay is up to two years, after which most residents transition to independent living arrangements. Like the previous provider, Saha will provide an additional six months of resettlement support during this period. Pathways accept residents aged 18+ with no upper age limit.  The service is staffed 24/7 by four housing support workers and a team manager. Services focus on developing independent living skills and take a personalised, resident-centred approach. Support may include budgeting, accessing community resources, education/employment, and more based on individual needs.

There is also a community bookswap at Pathways, which was set up by Peabody and remains popular with the residents and neighbours.  “We are honoured to be selected as the new provider for Pathways,” said Lynne Shea Saha Chief Executive. “Saha has a strong track record in mental health supported housing, and we are committed to ensuring residents have the support they need to gain independence.”

Dave Black, Peabody’s Director of Care and Support Commissioned Services, added: “It’s been wonderful to help the residents of Pathways improve their wellbeing and independence over the years. We wanted to transfer our contract to an organisation with a strong local presence, so were pleased to hear Saha was chosen. We’ve been working together to make sure the change goes smoothly for our residents and colleagues.
