saha completes our new homes in Stroud

26/11/15

We are pleased to be able to present ten new one bedroom flats in Stroud. The flats are modern, energy efficient, well equipped homes offered at affordable rent. The cost of the build was funded by saha with a contribution from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Working in partnership with local building company, Aqua Construction, the homes were delivered within set budgets and in time for occupation before Christmas. The project also gave an opportunity for two apprenticeships for local people to be created.

One of the apprentices, George Villis from Tuffley in Gloucester, said: “Working on this project has given me the opportunity to learn new skills which with what I am doing at college will help me become a qualified carpenter.”

The new development will be offered as one bed, two person flats and comprise of open plan living spaces, with Juliet balconies overlooking the rear gardens.

John Macfarlane, Head of Capital Projects at saha said:

“These new properties, which have turned what was very much an under utilised car park into much needed homes for the local people of Stroud, are a welcome addition to saha’s housing stock and will provide many years of good quality housing for it’s occupants”.
