The Partnership Cup: Clash of the titans!
29/09/23

The Partnership Cup football tournament was recently held, organised jointly by The Salvation Army and Saha. This exciting event saw Saha enter two teams – The Limes and Braintree Foyer – who faced off for a coveted spot in the quarter finals. After a hard-fought match between the two Saha sides, it was Braintree Foyer who came out on top, knocking the Limes out of the tournament.
Braintree Foyer rode this momentum into the semi-finals, where they met the team from Ty Gobaith. Both sides left everything on the pitch, but in the end, it was Ty Gobaith victorious, ending Braintree Foyer’s unbeaten run.
Both Saha teams did so well and demonstrated the bridging of community. Players from various backgrounds were brought together by their shared love of football and competitive spirit. Supporters cheered on their teams, creating an electric atmosphere.
Adding to the excitement, football legend Peter Shilton and Manchester City’s John Sones made surprise visits to meet residents and stay for a Q&A session as well as photos. Their presence made the event even more memorable for the players,
The success of the Partnership Cup demonstrates the power of sport to unite people. Congratulations to the participants and winners of this meaningful event. We look forward to seeing more teams from Saha at next year’s Partnership Cup!
