Our Houseproud pledge
Saha is delighted to announce that it has signed up to the HouseProud Pledge. By signing up to the pledge Saha is showing residents that we are committed to building communities where people can thrive and know they are valued and respected as they are.
The HouseProud pledge scheme was developed in response to the publication of the ‘No place like home’ study undertaken by the University of Surrey, to understand the experiences, concerns and preferences of LGBTQ+ social housing residents.
Lynne Shea Saha Chief Executive said:
“We are thrilled to be part of this scheme that shows our commitment to residents so that they can feel welcome and safe in their homes, but that we will continue to develop how everyone can have a greater say in how Saha develops its services”.
By signing up to the pledge it will show Saha’s commitment to:
- Ensuring that LGBTQ+ residents can have an input at executive and strategic levels.
- Increasing LGBTQ+ visibility across Saha
- And providing a programme of staff training that will improve understanding of LGBTQ+ lives.
We’re excited to work towards the Pledge Pioneer accreditation. Over the coming months, Saha will work towards demonstrating our commitment to the pledge and sharing information with you on how we are meeting the commitment.
